From Plastic to Productive

The Plastic Bank builds and activates a recycling infrastructure that utilizes blockchain technology to help stop ocean plastic and fight poverty in some of the world’s poorest regions.

So how does it work? Ocean-bound plastic is collected by residents and then brought to the Plastic Bank to be exchanged for cash, digital currency, healthcare coverage, school tuition, and more. Whatever the local community needs, the rewards will be tailored to fit them.

Collected plastic is then recycled into Social Plastic and used to make new products. Companies can buy these plastic pellets to make their product’s packaging, or the Plastic Bank can even 3D print items from this Social Plastic.

Plastic becomes a resource for developing nations, not a waste.

A Pet’s Personality

The Shelter Pet Project launched an #AdoptPureLove campaign that celebrates the unique traits of shelter pets and shows how these qualities ad up to an incredible bond between the pet and parent. By showcasing this bond, potential pet parents will be more willing to adopt from shelters and rescues.

Unfortunately, shelter pets have previously been portrayed as sad and miserable rather than as loveable and fun. This #AdoptPureLove campaign was crafted with the goal of changing this perception.

Perhaps we can learn a thing or two about changing the perception of healthcare conditions and diseases.
