A Summer of Lifechanging: The Interns’ Perspective

Every summer, we welcome the summer interns into our halls, and this summer was no different. Several talented young professionals joined us to learn what being part of a lifechanging advertising agency is all about. Here’s what they had to say about their experiences:

James, Project Management Intern

It is a goal of mine to live a life that is meaningful and contributes to others’ well-being. Working at CDM Princeton gave me the opportunity to do just that. I helped raise awareness for lifechanging medications which treat serious conditions such as hemophilia, epilepsy, and psoriasis. The pride the employees have for the work radiates into the room, and there is a collective feeling of inclusion and dedication. Working as a PM allowed me to see the creative process from beginning to end, and the project management team were all extremely dedicated to facilitating my growth.

Mathias, Copy Intern

If I were to give one piece of advice to future interns, it would be learn when not to talk. Everyone supports contributions and the general mantra is “the more perspectives, the better”, but sometimes you owe it to yourself to sit back and listen. The people that work here have huge amounts of experience, and the diversity of knowledge provides almost unlimited resources to an attentive listener. The skills I honed through practice are important for continuing my work as a copywriter, but the lessons learned by just observing are invaluable.

Ian, User Experience Intern

My biggest take away from this summer was the realization that I have picked the right career path. At school, I stressed to my professors my desire to work on a variety of projects on a daily basis, and they pushed me towards an agency setting.

At CDM, I was brought in on almost every project to discuss user experience. My coworkers inspired me to discover more about design, marketing strategies, and networking, and above all, instilled knowledge within me I didn’t think I would gain so early in my career. I am beyond excited to jump in head first.

David, Digital Strategy Intern

Interning at CDM Princeton this summer was absolutely lifechanging, and it opened my eyes up to an industry that was previously unknown to me. The digital strategy team helped me learn and grow, both as a person and a strategist, by giving me an active role in everything they were working on.

CDMP’s motto is ‘lifechanging’. Yes, we work on lifechanging brands, but more importantly we work with lifechanging people… the CDM family. Coming to work was something I looked forward to every day and is something I will look forward to coming back to in the future.

Anthony, Art Intern

Working at CDM Princeton this summer was a valuable opportunity to start developing my career and learn the ins and outs of a successful agency. From the first day, I was working directly on client projects and developing ideas and concepts that have a real-world impact. The team at CDM Princeton has been an incredibly welcoming group, and has been more than willing to help me out and teach me everything I need to know to thrive in an agency environment. I am extremely excited to join the team at CDM as a full-time Art Director!
